Updated Te Whāriki

The updated Te Whāriki by the New Zealand Ministry of Education outlines the curriculum that every ECE service will be expected to follow. The curriculum document can be viewed here.

For implementation guidance, practice examples and resources on the updated curriculum, a new portal on Te Kete Ipurangi website tewhariki.tki.govt.nz has been designed to provide supporting material. The MOE is offering professional learning and development (PLD) of teachers, kaiako and educators to support the implementation. Information about how you can access this PLD is published here. It will include workshops, webinars and the appointment of 'curriculum champions' who will lead the establishment of curriculum inquiry networks. The Te Whāriki PLD programme will run from May 2017 to June 2018.
