AUCKLAND ECE SUMMIT

Genesis Energy Theatre

Telstra Clear Events Centre, Manukau

Thursday September 13, 2012

The Auckland ECE summit was held on Thursday 13th September, and had a great turnout from across the ECE sector. We have created this resources page so you can access the presentation material from the summit.

THEME: How can we work together to make it easier for people to participate in all forms of quality early learning?

Presentations from the summit:
Auckland Plan and ECE – Raewyn Stone, Auckland Council
Overview of participation in Auckland – Yvette Guttenbeil-Po’uhila, Ministry of Education
What’s been happening to support access and participation – Colleen Brown
How COMET Auckland can support participation – Susan Warren

The summit was also asked to consider these discussion points, which you are welcome to consider yourself.

  • In your experience, what are the 3 most important things that hinder participation in early learning?
  • In your experience, what are the 3 best things happening to increase participation?
  • What 3 things could we do now to increase access or participation?
  • How can we support working together – future meetings, connections etc.

The results of the discussion sessions will be available on the COMET Auckland website towards the end of September.
