NOVEMBER 2013: COMMUNITIES GO DIGITAL

On Monday 25th November, over 160 representatives from community groups, skills and education institutes came together for the Auckland Communities Go Digital event at the Trusts Stadium in Henderson.

The aim of the event was to connect, upskill and share ideas on using digital technologies to enhance communities, so more organisations can find ways to make digital learning available in their communities.

Keynote addresses from Deputy Mayor Penny Hulse, ATEED Chief Executive Brett O’Riley and Manaiakalani chair Pat Snedden, and a range of other speakers and presentations inspired and informed participants.

The Communities Go Digital event shared:

  • Ideas to help communities engage in digital learning
  • Tools and tips for using technology
  • Practical examples from community groups
  • Opportunities for connecting and collaborating
  • A showcase of technology

It was great to see a range of guests sending tweets from the event, which meant a wider audience could learn from the day – check out a collection of tweets here. Thanks to all those who attended the event and everyone who tweeted.
