Shaping a Multilingual Auckland Conference - 27 Nov 2015

After years of planning, the Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland Languages Strategy officially launched at a high-profile conference on Friday 27 November, 2015.

The languages strategy was formed by a cross-sector steering group, and will drive collaborative action towards preserving, teaching and valuing languages.

The one day conference was held at the University of Auckland’s Business School, and included workshops, planning and a number of exciting keynote speakers, including Minister of Ethnic Communities, Pacific Peoples and Corrections, Hon Peseta Sam Lotu-liga, the head of the Superdiversity Centre, Mai Chen, and University of Auckland’s Te Puna Wānanga (School of Māori Education) Professor Stephen May.
