We have designed this section of the website to be a research hub for information, research, reports events and updates related to work COMET Auckland is doing around skills development in Auckland. This section of the website will also have a focus on the work we are doing to increase the employment and employability of young people across Auckland.
Skills development play a fundamental role in increasing the value of education, all age groups, and contributes to the economic wellbeing of the community.
COMET Auckland wants to make skills development more effective and equitable across Auckland, and generate outcomes for some of Auckland’s most vulnerable communities. Bringing together the right people and organising effective collaboration is an important role for COMET Auckland, and increase the amount of individuals participating and being included in the workforce.
We have a strong focus on employability, financial literacy, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) education. We also drive systems change by contributing to broader conversations around skills development, education and innovation.
We want this section of the website to be a resource hub - a home for updates, news and information for those interested in skills development across Auckland. For further information, please contact Shirley Johnson, COMET Auckland Skills Manager, at Shirley.Johnson@cometauckland.org.nz
